Steven is an architectural designer born in the San Francisco Bay Area, with extensive professional training in New York City. His experience spans a wide range of project types, including public parks and open spaces, office buildings, private residences, mid-rise housing, high-rise urban developments, and the renovation of existing structures.

He grew up in Cupertino, California, where he attended Monta Vista High School, one of the top-ranked public high schools in the state, located near Apple Headquarters. During this time, he developed an early interest in design, drawing inspiration from the work of Steve Jobs while studying philosophy and urbanism.

In 2011, he moved to New York to pursue a five-year Bachelor of Architecture degree at Pratt Institute. While studying, he began working at Efficiency Lab for Architecture, gaining experience with Architects under the broader influence of David Childs, architect of the new World Trade Center post-911. His early built work includes a 3D concrete tile system and a glass house in Colorado.

He later worked in Chicago at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, an internationally recognized firm known for high-rise design. There, he deepened his understanding of modernist architecture, particularly the work of Mies van der Rohe, as well as the urban history of Chicago as a center of steel-frame modernism.

Returning to New York, he joined another small studio, contributing to a residential project in Austin, Texas, while also working on renovation projects throughout the city. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he became involved in public park initiatives focused on skateboarding in New York City, collaborating with the Tony Hawk Foundation and Gotham Park. At the same time, he contributed as a lead designer to his first completed project in New York City at 132 West 14th Street.

In 2023, he relocated to Japan to pursue new professional opportunities and focus on contemporary design projects related to social innovation.

He currently works as a designer at Kengo Kuma and Associates, where he is in charge of projects in Germany and the United States.
